Have you registered for Night Out?

Next Tuesday is National Night Out Against Crime, and you have until this Friday to get your neighbors together and register your event. The whole idea is to get out with your neighbors and enjoy some food, maybe a few drinks, and get to know everyone around you.

Registration is free, online, easy, and gives you authority to block off your street and get to visit with all sorts of luminaries like the mayor, city councilmembers, and police command staff.

Register your event here: https://www.seattle.gov/police/nightout/eastregister.htm

And let us know in the comments below if you’re planning an event. We’ll be building an interactive map to let everyone know where to go and to give us a route to follow for event photos.

  1. We’re having a Night Out potluck and bbq. The Garfield condos are spearheading the organization for it.

  2. It looks like 24th Ave is going to be block party central. Another potluck will be happening a couple of blocks north between Marion and Spring.

  3. Alot of people on 21st are gone doing other things this year so there hasn’t been enough critical mass to get a block party going. It sounds like 24th is the place to be this year.

  4. Yep, I think we’re going to be able to get the potluck happening again along with an outdoor movie.

  5. We’re having a party. Anyone between 23rd & MLK, Yesler & Jackson is invited. The plan is pretty low-key so far–I’m going to buy costco amounts of hot dogs and buns, others are bringing side-dishes, someone’s dragging a grill into the street, and we’ll take it from there.

  6. We’re having a Potluck on James Street between 20th and 21st. Everyone and anyone is welcomed to stop by.

  7. Dessert potluck for us, at the corner of 25th and Spring. Join us, and then meander to the other groups in our neighborhood to sample true CD hospitality!

  8. we might not be blocking off the street, but we’re gonna be pouring some safetyade

  9. we’ll be blocking off the street, and our potluck will start at 6pm. All are welcome!

  10. BLOCK PARTY its not the Hill, but we definietly got the DIY street games going –
Badminton!Double Dutch Empire! Kids bike street course! Chalk Drawings & yes we are calling out for some of those homemade favorites…..bring a dish to share, POTLUCK!!
