It's another rare gray day in August.  Let's see if the rain dampens the spirit of the East Precinct streets:

10:03AM - 900 Poplar Place S - Suspicious Circumstance - A man is walking around the area, looking in vehicles. White male, jeans
11:07AM - 300 9th Ave - Suspicious Circumstance - A parking officer saw a man break the back window of a vehicle, get in, and drive away to the south. Something led the parking officer to think that the man may have been the owner and was using an extreme measure to solve a keys-locked-in-the-car situation.
12:07PM - 300 29th Ave - Keep the Peace - Officers requested to be on hand as a man picks up his daughter according to a court order
12:12PM - 2001 E. Madison - Disturbance - A man is inside the Planned Parenthood offices, refusing to leave. "Possibly domestic related". FYI - there's an unusually high level of effort to find units and supervisors to respond to this one. Asian male, 20s, navy blue shirt on, dark pants.
12:38PM - 100 19th E - Suspicious Circumstance - Woman heard a knock at the door, and when she looked out she saw someone duck down. Only description is that they were wearing a dark-colored hat.
12:46PM - 1501 4th Ave - Robbery - Bank robbery at WAMU downtown. No vehicle involved
1:58PM - 26th Ave S. & S. King St. - Assault - A known male tried to choke the female complainant, and now her hand is bleeding from her attempt to get away. Update: The female has lit her shirt on fire and is attempting to put it in the gas tank of a vehicle. Update x2: Police arrived and reported the situation as under control, and no need for fire response
2:35PM - 12th & E. Spruce - Theft - A man has spotted his stolen bike outside a shelter. The suspect is standing next to it, possibly trying to sell it. Black male, 30-35
2:45PM - 9th Ave & E. Jefferson Seattle - Kidnapping - A child was taken from the Harborview burn ward. They think it was the mother, who is restricted from the child by Child Protective Services. Be on the lookout for a white female with a small child, yellow pants, multi-colored jacket
3:22PM - 1400 S. Lane - Shoplifting - 2 shoplifters detained at Goodwill. There's a language barrier because the suspects only speak chinese.
3:24PM - 312 Broadway E - Shoplifting - A man stole a jacket from Red LIght, and an employee is following him northbound on Broadway. Hispanic male, 27, 5'10", baseball hat, gray shirt. Update: Now westbound on Harrison
3:24PM - 327 Broadway E - Disturbance - Male and female inside refusing to leave
3:26PM - 2300 McGilvra Blvd E. - Disturbance - There's an intoxicated, possibly mentally disabled male who is pounding on an elderly residents front door and trying the door handle.
3:58PM - 18th & E. Union - Disturbance - Intoxicated roommates are arguing. The caller couldn't provide an exact address, and operators can't call back because his cell phone was "911 only"
4:10PM - 15th & E. Denny Way - Fight Disturbance - Two men fighting - no weapons seen. White male, 20s, wearing a beanie and an orange shirt, and an Indian male, 40s, missing some teeth.
4:21PM - 22nd Ave S. & S. Jackson - Wreckless Driver - Caller says that a white Chevy Express almost ran her over in the crosswalk. The vehicle is now parked in the area, and the white female driver has left children alone in the car. The vehicle is registered to an address in the 600 block of 34th Ave.
5:19PM - 600 20th Ave E - Disturbance - A man is in a dispute with his neighbors, claiming that a woman is breaking his stereo equipment. Mental issues may be involved.
5:45PM - 2700 S. Norman - Threat - Two young juveniles (8-10) were in a verbal argument. Now one of the kid's fathers is threatening the family of the other kid. Father is a black male, 42, black coat, green army fatigue pants.
5:54PM - Hiawatha & Dearborn - Weapons Call - Caller reports a man walking southbound with a shotgun. Hispanic male, 40s, graying hair, a beard, and a sweater vest over a long sleeve shirt and dark pants. Update: A second passerby called in about seeing him at 19th & Dearborn. Update x2: Reported as under control, 2 in custody, fake gun recovered.
6:00PM - 729 E. Pike - Disturbance - A man is sitting in a trash can, eating and drinking, and pretending to take a bubble bath. White male, 30s, brown t-shirt, jeans. (note that does not match who you would think: a green, grouchy, furry not-sure-what with large eyes, brown eyebrows, and a large pink tongue)
6:01PM - 11th E. & E. Harrison - Narcotics Activity - On the sw corner of the intersection
6:12PM - 26th & E. Alder - Robbery - Caller saw 4 juveniles assault a man and rifle through his backpack. The suspects left running eastbound on foot. Suspects are black males, 15-16, wearing white t-shirts and jeans. Victim is a white male, mid 20s-30s who walked off eastbound on Alder.

Did the driver not cause a wreck, or was he "reckless," or both?

No wrecks - just the potential of them due to crazy driving
