House Fire in Madrona

There was a major fire just a few minutes before 5pm at 1133 35th Ave in Madrona, in a smaller two-story house behind the Madrona Pub that sits at 34th & Union. Helen Fitzpatrick of Seattle Fire Department said the original call was for a grease fire in the kitchen, but when fire fighters arrived they found flames coming out of the house and up into the attic. The owner of the house was at home at the time of the fire, but she escaped without injury.
